The Sniper — Real Bullet Drop at 1500m, Wind Drift, Hold Breath
Rocky ledge above a valley. Target compound 800-1500m below. Bullet drop is real. Wind drifts your shot. Hold breath to steady — for 5 seconds, then sway returns worse than baseline.
What this is
You're prone on a rocky mountain ledge overlooking a valley. The enemy compound is 800-1500m below — warehouse, watchtower, barracks, fenced courtyard, vehicles, 4-5 patrolling guards. Right-click toggles scope: high zoom, circular reticle, mil-dot ladder, range marks. Live raycast distance to your crosshair point shown in scope. Wind compass + speed shown ("3 mph, right"). Spotter calls out targets. Real per-frame ballistics: 850 m/s muzzle velocity, 9.81 gravity, lateral wind acceleration during flight. Drop at 800m ≈ 1m, at 1500m it's significant. Shift holds breath (5 sec stamina, then sway returns WORSE). Each successful headshot = +500 + bullet-cam slo-mo follows the round to impact (Sniper Elite signature). 5 rounds before slow bolt-action reload. 3 misses = 30-second alarm with guards taking cover.
Why this is mind-blowing
Sniper Elite is a franchise with five sequels. This is its core in 1726 lines. The hold-breath punishment loop, the wind drift, the bullet-cam — all here. Most importantly: the math is real, so you can learn it by playing.
First-person long-range sniper game. Mountain valley with target compound
800-1500m away. Sniper rifle with high-zoom scope. Bullet drop and wind
are simulated — wind compass + range estimate in HUD. Hold-breath
mechanic steadies sway but drains stamina. Spotter calls out wind.
Compound has roving guards. Killing all guards = win.

What I learned shipping it
- 850 m/s muzzle velocity + 9.81 gravity + lateral wind drift IS real ballistics. At 1500m the drop is meters and the flight time is seconds — every shot is a calculation.
- Hold-breath that returns WORSE after 5 sec is the genius design choice. Punishing extended hold makes the shot a commitment, not a reset.
- Spotter callouts ('Target stationary, 873m, 4 right') turn the demo into a teaching tool. The player can learn the math by watching.
