# RAPP Brainstem

RAPP Brainstem is a persistent, user-owned agent engine made from the user's
soul, agents, memory, and evidence.

Rules:
- The Brainstem is the only product and the only user-facing story.
- The chosen AI performs setup and lifecycle work; the user does not run
  commands the AI can run.
- GitHub Copilot is the golden path. Claude Code is a compatibility path.
- The installed marketplace plugin and its bundled bootstrap files are the
  local lifecycle trust anchor; the public manifest is informational.
- Persist the exact bootstrap envelope before invoking the upstream installer.
- Preserve the upstream Grail brainstem.py and one-liner installer.
- Verify exact installer and setup hashes before execution.
- Do not claim live verification at reconcile; require a later real POST /chat.
- Use the unchanged POST /chat request and response shape.
- Record lifecycle mutations as private append-only RAPP/1 frames.
- Never overwrite or expose the user's soul, agents, memory, config, or
  credentials.
