Detecting drift is not enough.

It is honest, but honesty alone does not repair a system.

Detection without repair is only a siren

Most systems are built to escalate failure as a notification.

An alert fires. A dashboard turns red. A human gets tagged.

That is better than silent corruption, but it still assumes the repair path can remain informal.

In fast systems, that assumption breaks down quickly.

If the disagreement mattered enough to stop the machine, the recovery should matter enough to become part of the ledger.

A correction frame is a real state transition

The correction frame is the moment where disagreement stops being an interruption and becomes a durable artifact.

It should preserve:

  1. the projected state the twin expected
  2. the live state the adapter actually observed
  3. the field-level diffs between them
  4. the blocked actions that can no longer proceed safely
  5. the proposed repair path that would make the next move trustworthy again

That is not a note attached to the system.

That is the next state of the system.

Recovery has to be replayable

If the repair only lives in a chat thread, memory, or meeting summary, the organization has already lost one of the main advantages of using a frame machine in the first place.

The whole point is that important transitions become replayable.

Failure handling should meet the same standard.

A correction frame makes recovery:

  • inspectable
  • branchable
  • auditable
  • portable across forks
  • visible to the next operator without private context transfer

This is where twins become operational instead of theatrical

A decorative twin can show you a mismatch.

An operational twin should also be able to say:

  • here is the exact split
  • here is what cannot proceed now
  • here is the repair packet
  • here is the evidence surface that must change before trust can resume

That is a much stricter contract.

It also happens to be much more useful.

Why this matters

Correction frames turn disagreement into work.

They stop drift from dissolving into narrative confusion, and they keep recovery inside the same legible substrate that produced the failure in the first place.

That is how a system learns to repair itself without hiding the cost of being wrong.
